On the IBM booth at CeBIT 2007, visitors could compose their own show from water, light and sound by combining on-screen service modules to create endless new configurations.
Developed by CPP Studios and the madhat team, this interactive exhibit illustrated the principle behind service-oriented architecture (SOA) in a fun way.
In a matter of minutes, small icons on a touch screen created an impressive spectacle in which metre-high water fountains kept perfect time with the music, accompanied by an ambient light show.
On a booth rich in highlights, the IBM Water Sequencer was the public’s favourite exhibit. During the fair, it played almost a thousand compositions generated by visitors to the booth.
